Villa One

The design of this extraordinary villa was started in 2019. The current owner chose Urban Symbiose as the architect. Inspiration for the design was the post-war concept of Case Study Houses. This style, inspired by the American countryside, is characterised by horizontality in construction, geometric shapes and a seamless transition between inside and outside.

The interior design was provided by Nicoline Beerkens, one of the leading interior designers in the Netherlands. She designs interiors throughout Europe and makes extensive use of natural materials such as wood and marble. Warm, natural colours predominate and blend perfectly with the garden and exterior. The villa was built between 2020 and 2022 by Aerdenhout Villabouw, a renowned builder of high-end homes. The villa is almost entirely energy-neutral thanks to the use of a ground source heat pump, air source heat pump and solar panels. The entire house is equipped with a Creston home automation system where everything imaginable can be controlled in a simple manner.

Living, cooking and entrance
Entrance on the ground floor via the hall with staircase, lift, cloakroom, guest toilet and utility room. The organically designed stairwell is a special element due to its shape and light, an absolute eye-catcher. The living area faces south-east and has wonderful light due to its location and large windows. The centrepiece of the room is the tasteful kitchen with an island and bar. The custom-made kitchen is finished in marble and equipped with Gaggenau appliances. On the waterfront is the dining room with beautiful views over the greenery and water of the Zuider Amstel Canal.
The living room is directly adjacent to the terrace and garden. The room offers intimacy and tranquillity thanks to the fireplace and beautiful built-in cupboards made of cherry wood. Unique are the large aluminium sliding doors (TUDOR) that seamlessly blend inside and outside. On nice days, these can be opened, allowing the living area to flow through to the terrace.

Sleeping and bathing
The villa has a total of four bedrooms and four bathrooms, with the possibility of easily creating a fifth and sixth bedroom. There are three bedrooms on the first floor. The first bedroom, facing south, offers stunning views of the garden and access to a roof terrace. This room has a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. The second bedroom, located on the waterfront, functions as a small studio flat with its own living area or workspace. This room is ideal for an older child or a live-in au pair. The walk-in closet has custom-made cabinets and the bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink.
The third bedroom, facing west, has a large bathroom off the hallway, equipped with a bathtub, double sink, shower and toilet.
The entire second floor is furnished as a master suite. The bedroom area with fireplace offers both water and garden views. Through the glass frontage, the sunny roof terrace is accessible, an ideal place to start or end the day in the evening sun. Centrally located is the walk-in closet with custom-made cupboards and an enclosed toilet room. The beautiful bathroom is fitted with a freestanding bathtub, double Sunshower with tanning or infrared function and double washbasin. The whole is finished with Emperador Dark marble and custom-made cabinets.


Wellness & relaxing
Villa One features an extensive wellness area. The full-size swimming pool is equipped with a countercurrent system, allowing for sports swimming. Next to the pool is a Jacuzzi for several people. The infrared sauna is a wonderful place to relax. There is also a shower room and a separate toilet.
Adjacent to the pool is a bar, an ideal place for a party or drinks. The bar and pool are stylishly separated by a glass wall with integrated wine climate cabinets.
There is also a fully soundproofed home cinema and a small gym with various pieces of equipment.

The garden and roof terraces
Living in the middle of the city yet surrounded by greenery and water. Villa One is situated on a spacious plot of 728 m². The garden, enclosed by a raised hedge of rhododendrons, offers plenty of privacy.
The garden architect designed a garden with several terraces, lots of mature greenery and a high degree of privacy. Thanks to its southern location, there is plenty of sun and light. There are roof terraces on both the first and second floors with morning and evening sun. From the top terrace, there are great views of the Zuidas.
